SIDEXIS SYNC SERVICES
So that you have access to your SIDEXIS data at all locations
SIDEXIS SYNC SERVICES enable automatic image and patient data synchronization in distributed dental clinic scenarios via secure network connections.
Typical use cases
- One dentist operates 2 Sidexis clinic locations
- Two dentists share patients and/or imaging modalities
- One dentist works both at home and in a remote clinic
- Multiple dentists share patients and/or X-ray modalities
- Multiple dentists operate a spatially separated group practice
- Sidexis 4 island installations for integrating new X-ray machines into existing Sidexis XG networks
- Networking of dental clinics with mixed Sidexis 4 and Sidexis XG installations
- Connection of central practice management systems (PMS) via Windows Remote Desktop (RDP) to centrally installed Sidexis installations in the satellite locations
- Networking of Sidexis locations without cloud infrastructure
- Sidexis data synchronization in mobile clinic scenarios
- Central data collection in DSO (dental support organizations) scenarios
Supported Sidexis versions
- SIDEXIS XG 2.2x or higher (only 2D operation)
- SIDEXIS XG 2.53 or higher (both 3D and 2D operation)
- SIDEXIS XG 2.56 or higher (using the provided SIDEXIS XG database reader)
- SIDEXIS 4.1.3 or higher (both 3D and 2D operation)
Components
SIDEXIS SYNC SERVICES Gateway
SIDEXIS SYNC SERVICES Gateway is the central configuration and runtime component with a wide range of architecture and data filtering options. This allows different data synchronization connections to be defined and thus flexibly adapted to the respective clinical requirements.
The basic building block is a unidirectional gateway. In this case, patient and image data are transferred from a source Sidexis to a target Sidexis via the gateway route after new image acquisitions.
This transfer can be realized between Sidexis 4 and Sidexis XG clinic locations.
In addition, mixed data alignment scenarios between Sidexis 4 and Sidexis XG are transparently supported.
By pairing two unidirectional gateways in the opposite direction, bidirectional synchronization can be realized.
SIDEXIS SYNC SERVICES Control
This component is responsible for the fully automatic import of 3D DVT data at the target location of a gateway. It can also be used to trigger the 2D data import as well.
SIDEXIS SYNC SERVICES PMS-Connector
This component allows the processing of corresponding X-ray orders in the local Sidexis installation when using RDP access to a centrally installed practice management software (PMS).
The following PMS are (currently) supported:
- DAMPSOFT DS-Win
- SOLUTIO charly
- EVIDENT
Thanks to the flexible configuration options, the PMS connector can be easily adapted to unnamed PMS systems.
Using the PMS connector ensures several important goals in daily Sidexis practice operations:
- automatic transfer of patient registration data in the local Sidexis
- therefore no additional manual entry of this data in Sidexis is required
- no risk of typos or incorrect file numbers
- with subsequent (re-)transmission of the new X-ray images at the satellite location to the central office, no risk of patient duplicates or data collisions
SIDEXIS SYNC SERVICES database reader
Helpful tool for initially filling a configured gateway with the patient and 2D image data from the source Sidexis. This means that the Sidexis installed at the target location can be supplied with the data from the source. From this initial comparison, new data is automatically added after it has been created at the respective location.
The database reader supports a wide range of filter options for targeted data extraction from the source Sidexis, including:
- Only patient registration data
- Optionally also 2D image data
- Date criterion, e.g. for quarterly reading
- Optional CSV data export of patient registration data, as a source for processing via SIDEXIS SYNC SERVICES tools
SIDEXIS SYNC SERVICES tools
Optional tools for better preparation/adaptation of existing environmental conditions for the operation of SIDEXIS SYNC SERVICES.
The following workflow is available with the new tools:
- The existing patient data is exported from an existing Sidexis installation as a CSV file in a structured form.
- Modifications are made in this file, e.g. a change/adjustment of the existing patient card ids.
- The modified CSV file can now be selected as a source for patient data changes to be applied via SIDEXIS SYNC SERVICES tools. After the change process has started, existing Sidexis patient data is changed according to the CSV specification.
